About
Hello and welcome to the Moonphire Design site! My name is Elayna Turner and I am a systems librarian by day and an artist at night (though I'd love to be an artist 24/7!) I have an Associates degree in art from Burlington County College and a Bachelors degree in art from Rowan University. I have also have a Masters degree in Library and Information Science at Drexel University. I am passionate about both libraries and art!
As an artist, I strive to make creations, whether they be drawings or plushies, that are bright and fun. Life can suck sometimes, but we all need moments of lightheartedness and joy and I hope my art is able to bring that feeling to people however momentary it may be. I started out as a very formal artist who competed in juried art shows in a variety of mediums. But, eventually, I loosened up and allowed myself to make the art my heart really wanted to make. I took up drawing with markers and soon expanded into making plushies. My plush toys are the highlight of my online store and any conventions I go to! Like my drawings, I keep the plush toys colorful, cute, and fun! I have worked with perler beads for a while as well and have made things from small to very large in size. Unfortunately, my wrist tendonitis has made making them a challenge and I have since scaled back. I largely focus on all things plush and drawing. With all of the work I have done, I've been recognized as a cultural asset by the South Jersey Cultural Alliance and their SJCAMP project which seeks to connect South Jersey's cultural community. Do I ever stop working and what do I do when I actually take a break? I enjoy some casual gaming! I'm a huge fan of franchises like Pokemon, Fire Emblem, and Final Fantasy. I can also be found shopping at Target more often than I care to admit and hanging out with my lovely but very needy cat, Gia.
